Just a quick post to announce the release of another Demonic mod, Instinct Rumors 2.0 by yours truly. This is both a REF script for REFDoor 1.2 and beyond as well as a mod for a specific BBS software, Instinct 3.0.
This is something of a re-do of the Instinct Rumors 1.0 door I released with Demonic in 1997, only this time it leverages Instinct 3.0’s “@TYPE” MCI control code to display the rumor itself. Stupidly enough I coded up the entire thing before I actually tested said feature only to quickly discover that it’s basically broken. FFFUUUUUUU!! Well, I’ve been quietly working on an Instinct board on and off for a couple of years now and with some workarounds, I can at least use it myself until I release an unofficial Instinct patch (which I’m calling 3.0e) to fix these bugs and more. Beyond that, it serves as yet another example of REF scripting with REFDoor, which can only help anyone who decides they might want to try developing using it.
